Here at Dr. Winn's office we feel that your first visit is the beginning of a new relationship. We will begin the appointment with our dental hygienist.  We will get familiar with your medical and dental histories and give you a chance to voice concerns and ask any questions you may have.

For some, a comprehensive exam with Dr. Winn may be needed, which may be a little different than what most people have grown accustom to. Because the mouth is made up of multiple components including the temporal mandibular joint, teeth, gums, bone,  and muscles, it is important that we examine each piece. This enables us to develop a complete diagnosis and life long treatment plan. Along with the doctor's chair side exam, we also plan a full mouth set of x-rays as well as a panoramic x-ray if they have not been done recently. These are necessary to see what the eye cannot. Specifically focusing between the teeth, under old fillings and below the gum line. The last, and possibly most valuable piece are the diagnostic digital intra-oral photographs. After all of our data has been collected and reviewed you will return in approximately two weeks to discuss Dr. Winn's findings. This comprehensive exam will be offered to you on an as needed basis.
